Speedy De Veste
Unmistakable jumping talent!
Speedy de Veste is a very appealing athletic colt by the under Willem Greve well-performing Opium JW van de Moerhoeve (s, Kannan) who was sold to the USA in February of this year.
In the direct mare line we find a large number of above-average performing show jumpers, including the international 1.60m. classified Rancorrado (s, Gran Corrado) - Cian O'Connor (IRL).
Mother is the Sport-spr., 1.40m. classified and PROK approved mare Doriena V (s. Numero Uno). To date she has produced 4 offspring, of which the oldest, the gelding Intressant (s. Baloubet du Rouet) competes at 1.35m international level.
Grandmother is the exceptionally good breeding Keur, Performance mare Marieska (s. Hamlet). She produced the 1.30m. classified mare Zanella (s. Sheraton) and no less than 6 horses that compete at 1.40m. or higher in show jumping, namely:
Stubborn V (s. Verdi TN) - 1.45m. - Pieter Keunen (NED)
Doriena V (s. Numero Uno) - 1.40m. - Rosanne Janssen (NED)
Carino V 2 (s. Numero Uno) - 1.45m. - Caroline Muller (GER)
Urbanus (s. Gran Corrado) - 1.40m. - Walter Ulan (SVK)
Tharcorado (s. Gran Corrado) - 1.40m.
Rancorrado (s. Gran Corrado) - 1.60m. - Cian O'Connor (IRL) - participant in European Championship Windsor 2009
Opium JW van de Moerhoeve is one of the jumping sensations in Belgium and with his super talent and incredible pedigree seems to be a very interesting addition to showjumping horse breeding. In the Belgian stallion competition and young horse cycles, Opium JW van de Moerhoeve showed his unlimited jumping qualities, combining caution and reflexes with attitude and extra power.
Sire Kannan has been one of the world's best sires for years and produced jumping cracks such as Nino des Buissonnets (Steve Guerdat), Molly Malone V (Bertram Allen), Quabri de l'Isle (Pedro Veniss), Tokyo (Christian Ahlmann), Quorida de Treho (Romain Duguet) and many others. The pedigree of Opium consists solely of foundation stallions followed by Nabab de Rêve, Chin Chin and Quidam de Revel in a row.
Dam Ischgl de Muze jumped at international level under Joe Clee and, in addition to Opium, also produced the approved stallion Mumbai van de Moerhoeve, who is currently trained for the highest level at Stal Beerbaum. Opium's grandmother VDL Groep Eureka is well known in the Netherlands; under Maikel van der Vleuten, Eureka jumped very successfully at international level and in 2014 she won the Dutch championship title for seniors in Mierlo. Great-grandam Beauty-Belle van 't Roosakker is then a daughter of the world famous Goliath Z daughter La Belle van Sombeke. La Belle formed the basis of an unprecedented list of international show jumpers, but is above all dam of Grand Prix winner Ta Belle van Sombeke – the dam of Glock's London (Gerco Schröder), Golden Hawk (Shane Breen), Taran de la Pomme (Kevin Staut) and A Pikachu the Muse (Billy Twomey.
Opium JW van de Moerhoeve has been trained by co-owner Willem Greve, who compares him in terms of talent with his top stallions Carambole and Grandorado TN.
